Katie Klesner (2024 -present) is a Registered Nurse (RN) wit(h a passion for maternal and child health. Originally from Colorado, she pursued her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) at Northern Arizona University. Her career journey began in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), where she honed her skills in caring for newborns and supporting their families. Katie also spent time working overseas in a military hospital and clinic, broadening her perspective and expertise in diverse healthcare settings. Motivated by personal experiences, she obtained her Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) certification in 2011, following the birth of her second child. Later, she achieved the prestigious International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) credential, showcasing her commitment to supporting breastfeeding mothers and infants. For seven years, Katie made significant contributions to Vail Health’s Family Birth Center, where she served as a postpartum nurse, NICU nurse, and lactation consultant. Her multifaceted role allowed her to provide comprehensive care to mothers and babies during the crucial postpartum period. In 2019, Katie became a Certified Childcare Health Consultant, leveraging her expertise to promote the health and well-being of children in childcare settings. She is a group leader for ECP’s newest group, Connecting the Expecting. Her dedication to improving outcomes for mothers and infants has earned her respect within the healthcare community, and she continues to make a positive impact through her work.
